Waihi Beach

On Wednesday the 7th of February Marama went to Waihi Beach to learn some tips from the lifeguards. The sea was really rough and it was a really windy day. The lifeguards took us on a tour around the beach and took us into the first aid room and the lifeguard tower.

In the first aid room, the lifeguard showed us the thing you put people in if they break their spine. I got put in one of those and it was really uncomfortable. but it was fun.

We played games at the beach and did some relays. We played grab the flag. I came first for the girls. Then we played seaweed and I was the tagger once. after our game of seaweed, we built a sandcastle and got a photo.

My favourite part was when we got to go into the water. The waves we quite big and I got smashed over a couple of times. It was a fun day.

While we were there we also learnt a couple of things we learnt how to:
1.Spot a rip and how to get out of it.
2.How to rescue somebody who is drowning
3.how to be sun smart
