This emoji stands for furious. I used red because his ears are exploding with anger and I used yellow for the emoji because it looked better than the other colours. It was challenging trying to find what to make my emoji like. It was also challenging because I had to learn how to do new things. I am happy with the way my emoji turned out.

Use in a sentence:

YOU DID WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Discovery

On Thursday last week, Whetu showed their discovery creations to Whenua. It was a chance to show the Whenua team what we had created and what we had learned. I was in a group with Kaydee and Isabella learning about African jewellery. At first we didn’t have many people interested but in the end, there were so many people interested in our creation. I think it went really well and we enjoyed what we had learned. I would not change anything about the way we did discovery. It went very well and I think we all learned things from ourselves and each other.

We went outside and watched an awesome play about toe shrinking. We all shared our creations with the rest of the Whetu team and then it was time to pack up. I have really enjoyed Discovery and would definitely do it again!

In the first week of the holidays I stayed at my Nana’s in Auckland. Sophie, Luke and I went up to stay for a week. Luke came up for a work experience at Titan Marine in Auckland city. Sophie and I came up because we wanted to. The first day we shopped at at Westfield Mall. While we were there we played monopoly for ages and Luke won.

We also went to Cotton on and Kmart to get some clothes and shoes. For dinner we had Chinese which I didn’t really like. The next day we went to the pools and it had a massive hydroslide that had fast flowing water. There were also three competitions and I won all of them. The first one was to get across the pool toy as fast as you can and the fastest time won a prize. I bet everyone (even Sophie) and I got to say my name and school over the loudspeaker. To win the second challenge you had to do the best bomb or jump off a high surface and I drew with Sophie. To win the third challenge you had to win a swimming race and I won that too. I had a great time. When we went home I played touch With Sophie, Sam and Jack. We played almost four times a day. On the very last day of the holidays it was my Dad’s birthday. His idea of fun is to go look at grass on his birthday. Then it was school time.

This week we would like you to write a recount about Cross Country day. How did you go? How did you feel? How did your training contribute to your performance? If you got through to HP or TV, what are your goals for that day?

Cross Country
Ngatea Primary School has previously had their annual Cross Country Running at South Farms. Everybody tried their best and had a great time. The Kids First committee had sausages and juices to raise money for the school. I managed to finish the race at first place which was my personal goal. I definitely think that the training around the block paid off. The race was tiring but really fun.

I managed to make it into Hauraki Plains running. On the way over I was so nervous because there were all of these great runners. I waited for my race and when I was at the start line I felt really nervous and sick. It was really hard to run but it was a fun race. I finished at first place which I was so happy about. It was a really great day.

I won Hauraki Plains so this meant I was going through to Thames Valley Cross Country. It was a long ride up and the roads were curvy so I got car sick. When I got there I felt happy that the ride was over and I could get some fresh air. I had butterflies in my tummy. It was time for my race and I was so nervous at the start. In the previous years, I had come second in Thames Valley Cross Country so I was determined to run at the best of my ability. Finally, the race started and I was in first place. About 40 seconds later a girl passed me. I ran super fast and got in front again. This was what happened the whole race. I definitely think that this was the fastest I had ever ran. I was in pain. It was neck and neck when we came through the gate. I sprinted as fast as ever and managed to finish the line first. I was overjoyed I had achieved my goal to win all of my races. It was an awesome time!

If you were in charge of setting up the Whetu Timetable for one full day what would it look like? What learning would we do?
What would you leave out that we currently do? Would we need any experts to help for the day?

You need to plan a full day…

I would leave all learning out and have a fun-filled day without teachers!

9-10.30am-  In the morning I would let Whetu have a big disco and have a tuck shop with free lollies and drinks. We would all get to pick the songs!

11-12.40-  When we come in from morning tea I would let the class have a movie day and you get to bring your own food and drinks. After the movie is finished we would all walk down to the Ngatea Water Gardens and have fun!

1.30-3pm- When lunch is over I would invite Mr. Fairweather to teach Whetu new Jump Jams for one and a half hours.

9-10.30am
Dance party
11-12.40
Movie
1.30-3pm
Jump Jam

Choose a quote that inspires you.  This should be added as a gadget on the side of your blog.  Include this quote as a post on your blog.  Write a post about why you chose this particular quote.  Why is it important to you?  Who said the quote?

I really like this quote because when I first saw it this one really stood out to me.

What I like best about this quote is that it is telling you to be yourself and be original. This quote is my favourite because it is really important to be your own person and do what you like and what interests you. Be your own person! Be different!

Two lucky people have won their share of $1,000,000 this weekend. That’s $500,000 each. So, what would you do if you won $1,000,000 (all to yourself)? What could you buy with this much money? Please provide a table with each item listed and how much it will cost you, don’t rest until it’s all gone!! (You will have to do some research!!)  Make sure your prices come from NZ!  Link the website to the price to show us that it’s real!

If I won $1,000,000 I would…
Buy a house with a nice view of the water so I have somewhere to live. I would go on holiday to Hawaii for 1 week and then come back and buy a new car because I need to be able to drive places. For the rest of the money I wouldn’t have a clue what to do with it but if I had to I probably would put it in my bank account.

$525,000
$39,255
$1,466

Total = $565,721
The rest of the money I would put into my bank account.

I play netball for the Ngatea Fantails. I have a supportive team and a supportive coach. My team mates are Kellee, Owen, Dana, Charli, Luisa, Jack, Brooke and I. This year my team has been quite good and we have definitely improved on our skills and our passing.

My team's biggest achievement was probably winning against the Ngatea Storms because the first time we versed them we lost and two times after that we won both times.

Personally, I have gotten better at my skills and my footwork when I play netball. My other achievement is making it into the Hauraki rep team. Most of our team is made up of people from our school but three of them are from different schools. My favourite thing about playing netball is actually getting out there and moving and having fun.

My Holiday

Holiday recount

In the holidays my dad took Sophie, Sam, Liam and I to the movies to watch Cars Three. The movie started at 12:10pm but we left a little earlier so we could do some stuff before that. We arrived at Thames at about 11:10am so dad took us to KFC. After we had KFC we went to my Grandads house and watched some rugby for a while.

When we arrived at the movie we noticed a few people that we knew from our school like Jack and Jasmine, Riley, Boe and Blake and Jesse Paton. Boe, Blake, Jack, Jasmine and Riley came to our movie.

When we were watching the movie Liam kept on being annoying and trying to swap seats with me and he wanted to stand up and not stay sitting down. I didn’t really want to watch that movie from the start but I actually really enjoyed it in the end.

After the movie had finished we stopped on the way home to get an ice-cream and some lollies that tasted great. When we got home we had to go and feed the new calves and I fed my calf club calf and brushed her. I got home and read two chapters of my book Matilda. And that was my day!

It's 2017 and this is a photo of me and my buddy Cerys. I am looking forward to having a great year in Whetu!
