This week we would like you to write a recount about Cross Country day. How did you go? How did you feel? How did your training contribute to your performance? If you got through to HP or TV, what are your goals for that day?

Cross Country
Ngatea Primary School has previously had their annual Cross Country Running at South Farms. Everybody tried their best and had a great time. The Kids First committee had sausages and juices to raise money for the school. I managed to finish the race at first place which was my personal goal. I definitely think that the training around the block paid off. The race was tiring but really fun.

I managed to make it into Hauraki Plains running. On the way over I was so nervous because there were all of these great runners. I waited for my race and when I was at the start line I felt really nervous and sick. It was really hard to run but it was a fun race. I finished at first place which I was so happy about. It was a really great day.

I won Hauraki Plains so this meant I was going through to Thames Valley Cross Country. It was a long ride up and the roads were curvy so I got car sick. When I got there I felt happy that the ride was over and I could get some fresh air. I had butterflies in my tummy. It was time for my race and I was so nervous at the start. In the previous years, I had come second in Thames Valley Cross Country so I was determined to run at the best of my ability. Finally, the race started and I was in first place. About 40 seconds later a girl passed me. I ran super fast and got in front again. This was what happened the whole race. I definitely think that this was the fastest I had ever ran. I was in pain. It was neck and neck when we came through the gate. I sprinted as fast as ever and managed to finish the line first. I was overjoyed I had achieved my goal to win all of my races. It was an awesome time!

If you were in charge of setting up the Whetu Timetable for one full day what would it look like? What learning would we do?
What would you leave out that we currently do? Would we need any experts to help for the day?

You need to plan a full day…

I would leave all learning out and have a fun-filled day without teachers!

9-10.30am-  In the morning I would let Whetu have a big disco and have a tuck shop with free lollies and drinks. We would all get to pick the songs!

11-12.40-  When we come in from morning tea I would let the class have a movie day and you get to bring your own food and drinks. After the movie is finished we would all walk down to the Ngatea Water Gardens and have fun!

1.30-3pm- When lunch is over I would invite Mr. Fairweather to teach Whetu new Jump Jams for one and a half hours.

9-10.30am
Dance party
11-12.40
Movie
1.30-3pm
Jump Jam

Choose a quote that inspires you.  This should be added as a gadget on the side of your blog.  Include this quote as a post on your blog.  Write a post about why you chose this particular quote.  Why is it important to you?  Who said the quote?

I really like this quote because when I first saw it this one really stood out to me.

What I like best about this quote is that it is telling you to be yourself and be original. This quote is my favourite because it is really important to be your own person and do what you like and what interests you. Be your own person! Be different!

Two lucky people have won their share of $1,000,000 this weekend. That’s $500,000 each. So, what would you do if you won $1,000,000 (all to yourself)? What could you buy with this much money? Please provide a table with each item listed and how much it will cost you, don’t rest until it’s all gone!! (You will have to do some research!!)  Make sure your prices come from NZ!  Link the website to the price to show us that it’s real!

If I won $1,000,000 I would…
Buy a house with a nice view of the water so I have somewhere to live. I would go on holiday to Hawaii for 1 week and then come back and buy a new car because I need to be able to drive places. For the rest of the money I wouldn’t have a clue what to do with it but if I had to I probably would put it in my bank account.

$525,000
$39,255
$1,466

Total = $565,721
The rest of the money I would put into my bank account.
