Easter is a day when we get chocolate eggs. The reason we give and receive Easter eggs is because
it is to celebrate a new life of Spring. It is traditional to eat hot cross buns to celebrate Good Friday. The reason for the cross on the hot cross buns is for when Jesus got nailed to the cross . We celebrate Easter Sunday because it is the day that Jesus had died and it was the day he had risen from his grave. Every year Sophie and I get giant bunny’s made of chocolate. Mine is a dream chocolate bunny that is a princess and Sophie’s is a milk chocolate bunny that is in the forest.
Thousands of dollars is spent on Easter candy this makes Easter the second largest candy event leading after Halloween. For Easter my family does celebrate it but we just stay at home and enjoy the day together. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon on the spring Equinox between March 22nd and April 25th. Did you know that 70% of Easter candy is purchased on chocolate and Americans spend $1.9 billion on Easter candy. The first Easter buckets given were meant to imitate a bird’s nest when eggs were placed inside the nest. Did you know that back in the old days they celebrated easter with real eggs but now they celebrate with chocolate eggs. My favourite thing about Easter is waking up to a surprise at the end of my bed!
